My Brief Bio

Sunday Zuoke

I’m not going to bore you with unnecessary detail about my life, but basically, I was born 43 years ago (1981) to an Assembly of God Minister, the late Rev. O. Zuoke in a reclusive village in the south-eastern region of Nigeria.

We were poor, to say the least. My dad received a small salary from the church leadership, but most of the time, this wasn’t enough to feed the family. Because of this, my dad resorted to farming in order to augment his meager earnings.

Right from childhood, I have always been a bright boy, right from primary school. I remember coming first in class from primary 2 till when I finished primary school.

But then, life was hard. Amenities such as electricity and decent living conditions were lacking. But we survived, nevertheless.

Fast-forward to adulthood, I left home when I finished secondary school to the bustling city of Lagos to learn a trade because my dad couldn’t afford to send me to the University. There was nothing I could do about it. However, I found myself in the southern city of Port Harcourt 2 years later to continue my education, courtesy of my elder sister.

But this was not to be.

She died of the dreaded HIV AIDS months later. Back to square one…

But God had a plan.

I did odd jobs to survive, until I learned how to create graphic designs by taking a course. That was how my career as a designer started.

I honed my skills by working in several firms till I became excellent in my trade. Apart from having excellent skills as a designer, I found out that I could write. I mean, I had a way with words. I discovered that I could put down my ideas meaningfully on paper, or any other medium, so to say.

This led me to begin writing my first novel, Emily, as a tribute to my late sister.

Guess what, I haven’t finished that novel till date lol…

Eventually, one of those days, God’s grace found me. I got saved, got a call into ministry, and things took a different turn since then.

I was ordained a lay minister at the Victory Community Baptist Church, Rumuomasi, Port Harcourt in 2015. By 2016, I got a degree sponsorship to study at the Baptist College of Theology, Owerri, from the same church.

I realized the diverse spiritual gifts operating in me, including teaching, administration, leadership, miracles, healing, among others.

Since I got the call into ministry, my passion for writing has manifested in the release of my first book, Nothing but the Blood, followed by Prosperity, and A Word in Season. Other books are in the works as I speak.

I am married to my wife, Mercy, and we have a son, Bethel.

I love planting and building things – I mean, crafting something out of nothing, and watching it grow in admiration. This, together with the desire to diversify my income, drove me to begin publishing journals, coloring books, and planers on Amazon.

I also ventured into Print on demand, online publishing via content websites, and even tried drop-shipping at a point.

I have 2 courses on Udemy (one of them is on graphic design). You can find links to all these in the resources section.

This is a brief story of my life, and I hope that it inspires you to pursue your dreams, and realize your potential.
